✨ No More Dimming Your Power for Pseudo Peace
A Boss Up Reflection on Real Peace vs. Fake Peace
🦁 From Lions to Rising
I used to think silence kept the peace. Now I know silence kept me bound.
In You Don’t Know the Lions That Taught Me How to Hunt, I shared how life trained me to move with strategy, silence, and boldness. Those lessons shaped me.
Then in She Decided to Rise Anyway, I told you about the choice — the moment I refused to stay down, muted, or small. Rising was powerful. But here’s the truth: rising is only the beginning.
Because what good is rising if I keep sitting back down every time “pseudo peace” shows up?
🌱 The Trap of Pseudo Peace
Pseudo peace whispers:
“Don’t rock the boat.”
“Keep things calm.”
“Stay quiet so no one gets upset.”
“Stay quiet...”
“They are just gonna say no, so I won’t say anything about it.”
It feels safe at first. But that “peace” is expensive. It costs you your voice, your presence, your God-given power.
Every time I dimmed myself to avoid tension, I wasn’t keeping peace — I was keeping dysfunction alive. I was protecting someone else’s reason not to grow at the expense of my own growth. I was taking on their tendencies to stay comfortable while robbing myself of divine alignment.
That’s not peace. That’s bondage.
And here’s the truth: bondage keeps you small. Alignment sets you free.
I saw this play out when I spoke up in a space where it became clear: they didn’t want my truth, they just wanted agreement. They wanted to check boxes and keep moving with their own agenda. For a moment, I almost dimmed myself for the sake of false harmony. But instead, I said what needed to be said. And when I did, I realized something: I wasn’t bound to their response. Their rejection of my input actually freed me. Because real peace isn’t found in being accepted — it’s found in standing aligned.
✨ The Shift: Real Peace vs. Fake Peace
Here’s the difference I had to learn:
Fake peace = avoiding conflict, swallowing truth, shrinking light.
Real peace = alignment with God’s will, even if it disrupts false harmony — and even if it means lighting up the room.
Jesus made this clear: “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.” (Matthew 10:34).
And He also said: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.” (John 14:27).
That’s the contrast: the world offers fake peace, but Christ offers real peace. One binds you in silence, the other sets you free in truth.
💎 The Resolve
No more dimming.
Not for approval. Not for appearances. Not for comfort. And especially NOT for fake peace.
My presence is not a threat — it’s a light.
My voice is not a problem — it’s a weapon of truth.
My power is not up for negotiation — it’s my gift from God.
If my rising disturbs your false harmony, let the melody cease — because I was created to carry a sound of truth, not a song of silence.
Because the peace I carry now? It’s real, and it’s rooted.
📖 Boss Up Reflection
Hold a mirror up to your life and ask yourself:
Where am I shrinking myself to keep things calm?
Who benefits from my silence — and who loses because of it?
What would real peace look like if I stopped dimming my light?
✨ Declaration
“I refuse to dim my power for pseudo peace. I rise, I shine, and I stay lit — because real peace is found in truth, not in shrinking.”
🔑 This Week’s Charge
When you feel the pull to shrink, pause. Ask yourself: Is this real peace, or fake peace? And then choose light.
Because here’s the truth: fake peace is quiet bondage. Real peace is loud freedom.
High heels + higher truth 👠✝️
