Why I Started Bossing Up

Every boss has a backstory. Here's mine.

“So… if we were sitting on my couch right now, sipping something warm (or sparkling), I’d probably say, ‘Let me tell you how I got here — because every boss has a backstory.’”

I didn’t wake up one day and decide to become her — the woman rebuilding her life with a bright smile and a sharpened sword. I became her because I had no choice.

Life hit hard.
Love disappointed.
Money got funny.
And for a while, so did my faith — again.

I gave more than I had, prayed through pain I couldn’t name, and kept showing up for people who wouldn’t even hold space for me. Somewhere in all that giving, I forgot myself. I lost my voice. And one day, I realized I was surviving a life I was meant to design.

That’s when everything shifted.

Not all at once — no magical moment, no angel singing over my finances (though I did ask 👀).
It started with a quiet decision: No more pretending. No more shrinking. No more waiting for someone to rescue me.
No more begging anyone to just love me.

I bossed up — in my heart, in my habits, in my healing.

This blog isn’t a highlight reel. It’s a mirror, a roadmap, and a reminder that your glow-up is not just about lashes and lip gloss (though we love those too). It’s about rebuilding your identity, reclaiming your voice, and learning how to thrive with grit, grace, and goals — and most importantly, with God.
